Getting from Hobart to Farmhouse Creek

Postby farefam » Wed 13 Jul, 2022 3:49 pm

Hi all,

I have been to Farmhouse Creek several times in the past, and the last time I was able to hire transport from Hobart Airport to there (but have forgotten who it was). Does anyone know if there are still any people offering that service, or is there a friendly forum user who would be happy to have their fuel and snacks paid for, who could offer me a lift from Hobart to Farmhouse Creek sometime around mid-December 2022 (flexible on dates).

I realise that there is currently a washout that stops road access about 3km before Farmhouse Creek.

I am in the early stages of planning a roughly 12 day packrafting trip down the New River and exiting via the South Coast track, so hiring a car and leaving it at Farmhouse Creek isn't really a viable option.

Cheers for your thoughts.

Same here. I'm looking for someone who can take us from either Hobart or Geeveston to Farmhouse creek in late December. So far I failed to find a suitable shuttle or taxi service.

If the road is open, you can't find anyone else, and I'm not out walking, I'll do it for fuel/food/caffeine. If the tracks are all open I'll be going in there in summer anyway, which would make it cheaper for you.

Thanks for the offer again north north west. Subject to your caveats, if I need to I'll PM you later on in the year if I do decide to move from the planning stage to the definitely gonna do it stage (which is more likely than not). It will also be interesting to see if any of the Eastern Arthur Range traverse has reopened by this coming summer.
