If not bills;what?

Postby Moondog55 » Mon 29 Jun, 2020 4:18 pm

The second Covid panic monetary stimulus payment comes to some people next month. It would be almost enough to get myself a Feathered Friends Vireo finally.
With perhaps enough left over to get the new bigger khukri too.
I know that many people worse off then we are will be paying it off their mortgages or forward paying rent but for everybody else will the money be staying here in Australia or heading somewhere else to buy stuff simply not available here?

Seriously thinking about one of Mike's quilts. That or photographic gear. Or a 2p X-Mid.

How does one get the stimulus payment?

I assume I’m not eligible as haven’t been notified...

Unfortunately it's a bit more than the stimulus payment, about $14,000- more

Just in case anybody was wondering, I spent the money on making my beloved a little happier by putting the money towards a small roof over the back landing. We now have some place to enjoy a cuppa in the morning with a view of the mess in the yard

Well done MD - somewhere to enjoy this unseasonal August weather?

I'm not eligible for the stimulus but saving plenty on fuel, parking and all those unnecessary things like shampoo, deodorant.....

The heating bills have been a little steeper with working from home, but we are past the coldest period. Compared with fuel and parking for my huge 7-minute drive to work, I'm way ahead.

I started by replacing the back step. Which for the last seven years have been some S/H pallets stacked up. That ate the first stimulus package. Was going to be 1200 * 1800 but blew out to 2700 * 2400 because that 2400mm was the minimum size of the timber at Bunnings and I hate sending H3 treated to landfill and we got some cheap decking at 5400 which we cut in half.
Naturally the roof needed to be both wider and deeper and took all of the next payment plus a bit. So no money for any new toys or gear.
It is nice to have the rain kept off the back door tho and soon we will have somewhere to sit. I did want a new summer sleeping bag tho, I'll have to make one I guess.
